Sunset

The sunset was so beautiful on Sunday that I had to run out and take some pictures of it. When I got home I played around with editing them a little bit. Some of them I warmed up so they had more orange and yellow tones and some I cooled off so they had more blue and pink tones.

I'm really pleased with the way they turned out. I'm really trying to make sure I pick up my camera more and practice.

I think this is my favorite of all of the pictures.

Fairmont Park

This is one of my favorite parks to take pictures at. I love how the trees reflect off of the water. The effect is almost magical to me.

Moth

I was at my brother and sister in laws house picking up the twins yesterday. My sister in law and I were in the backyard just talking and watching the kids. All of a sudden my sister in law pointed behind me. I turned around and there was this HUGE moth on the wall. It wasn't moving at all. I thought "shoot, I wish I had my camera..." But it was in the car so I quickly took two pictures on my camera phone. Then I thought "What the heck I'll run out to the car and get the camera and hopefully the moth is still there." Thankfully it was. I was amazed at how cooperative it was. It didn't move at all. Just stayed perfectly still and let me take a bunch of pictures of it. As much as I don't LOVE moths, this one was beautiful. I love the markings on its wings.

Roses

Hubby got me these gorgeous roses from ProFlowers.com for Valentines Day and I had to get pictures of them. I took these on the first day I got them. They started dying really quickly but I still loved the way they looked so I took more pictures of the dying ones. We were disappointed that they died within a couple days of getting them so Hubby emailed ProFlowers.com and complained. Amazingly they reshipped the entire order again. So I got 24 new roses plus another box of chocolates and another set of bath beads, gel and lotion. No hassle at all. We will definitely be going through them again.

I took these ones next to our dining room window with the rose up against a shiny red gift bad. I darken them some to bring out more of the black. I LOVE the way these turned out. You'll recognize this one as my new header. (I'm also going to use it as my business card. I'll post my new business card design tomorrow. I didn't love the last design I did so I completely changed it. I'm thrilled with it now and can't wait to get them!)
This one I didnt' darken as much because I loved the effect of the red in the background.
I love the contrast of the dying flowers with the one white flower that was still beautiful and fresh.

I think this is my favorite of all of the dying rose pictures. Its just so poignant to me. The constrast is just so sad yet beautiful to me. I edited these in photoshop to fade some of the color of the dying roses. I really like the effect it had.

I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.

More Roses

I took some more pictures of the beautiful roses I got for Valentines day from my sweet Hubby. He really is an amazing man and he puts up with so much from me.

The reflection of the rose is coming from a gift bag that I used for his Valentines day present.

My Valentines Day Roses

For Valentines Day, hubby sent me a beautiful bouquet of 2 dozen roses. I love them because they are all different colors - pink, white, yellow and orange. They are so beautiful!

I started out shooting them from above like normal and I thought the pictures turned out pretty well.

But then I decided to mix it up a little bit and shoot from a different angle. So I put them on the edge of the kitchen table and laid down on the floor to take some more pictures. I love the different perspective of these pictures.

This one I was having fun with photoshop as well. I really like how it turned out.
